Going to concerts can be such a fun and motivating experience. We are fortunate to live in a city that has a rich musical landscape and I encourage everyone to find concerts that look interesting and go hear them! Whether it's a fellow student's performance or a Chicago Symphony concert, watching others play can be not only enjoyable, but also inspire us to practice more, try new ideas, and make connections in our practice at home.

Chicago has two world class orchestra in the Chicago Symphony and Lyric Opera of Chicago, as well as many more lesser known ensembles: string quartets and chamber ensembles, community orchestras, and organizations with specific educational missions which play concerts specifically for families and young people. I'll list links to some of these organizations on this page, and keep a calendar of upcoming concerts that I think younger students would enjoy. And please let me know if you hear about something that you would like me to share.
